Emily Blanchard, Principal
Emily Blanchard has realized exhibitions and site-specific installations in over 15 countries while working for the American conceptual artist Jenny Holzer and the Danish architect Bjarke Ingels. As a member of the business development team for BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group), Emily secured and set up new architecture projects and managed the firm's exhibition practice. She has deep expertise in proposal design and interview strategy. As Director of Projects at Jenny Holzer Studio, Emily led a team of project managers and designers in executing site-specific artwork commissions, exhibitions, and temporary light projections. She expanded the commission portion of Holzer’s practice and became adept at upholding uncompromising aesthetic standards while adhering to fixed schedules and budgets. While planning and executing exhibitions within major museums and galleries, Emily has worked between artist, curator, educator, registrar, conservator, fabricator, and installer to ensure that each aspect of an exhibition is planned and executed flawlessly. Emily is proficient at organizing commission projects so that the artist’s and the client’s goals are met. Well-considered schedules, sensible budgets, clearly mapped scopes of work, and procedures for routine information sharing form the core of every Studio Co project.
